New utility accounts require that a deposit be paid at the time of service application.
Deposits are $85 per meter for residential accounts and $150 per meter for commercial accounts. Deposits will be refunded after 12 months of continuous service with good payment history, defined as no late payments, no cut-offs, and no dishonored payments. The deposit will be applied as a credit to the customer's utility account. The City of Yukon has the right to require payment of a new deposit if the original deposit was refunded and the account no longer meets good pay history criteria. If an account does not meet good pay history criteria, the deposit will be applied toward the customer's final balance and any remaining credit will be refunded.
Deposits may be paid in person or by phone with a credit/debit card at 405-350-3910 during our business hours. All credit/debit card transactions charge an additional $3.85 fee.
Current customers may transfer their deposit to someone else by submitting the Deposit Transfer Form (DOCX).
