What does it take to win the slowest race in town? Participants will need to:
1. Bring a turtle. (Caught or Bought)
2. Make a costume for their turtle. (Optional)
3. Register their turtle at the registration tent and get ready to rumble!

The contest offers divisions for small, medium, and large turtles. Ribbons are awarded for fastest turtle in each division, and largest turtle, smallest turtle, and best-costumed turtle overall! So bring your turtle and see if it can shell out defeat on the competition!

Care should be taken in decorating the turtle. Please do not use anything that is permanent or harmful to it. For example, please do not paint the turtles. If you catch a wild one, it is important to return the turtle back to the same place you found it following the race. No snapping turtles, please.

Turtles start their engines in the parking lot by the north shelter of City Park, next to Mulvey Pond. The FREE contest is open to children ages 5 to 11.
