Yukon Sanitation Services Waives Transfer Station Fee April 27 – May 1
From April 27 through May 1, Yukon residents may drop off their big trash and recyclable items at the Transfer Station at no cost. Bring your utility bill to Sanitation Services at 501 Ash Ave. for this free service.
To practice social separation guidelines recommended by the Governor and CDC, the event will be self-service as much as possible. Sanitation staff recommends that residents bring help, if they need it, to unload. However, employees will be available to assist if needed. In addition, staff requests that participants wear a face mask and practice six feet of separation while on site.
The accepted recycling items are tires other than tractor, implement, or off-road; appliances/white goods; automotive or ion batteries; e-waste (items with power cords); metals; oils; refrigerators; freezers; air conditioners; televisions, monitors, tires, batteries of any kind, waste oil or antifreeze from automotive maintenance. Dirt, bricks, rocks, concrete, roofing materials, or uncontained sheetrock will NOT be accepted.
No hazardous substances will be accepted. These substances include, but are not limited to, acids, caustics, explosives, fertilizer, fuels of any type, pressurized tanks such as propane or helium tanks, paints or solvent, pesticides or poisons, and any pool chemicals. Hazardous substances may be disposed of at the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility, 1621 S Portland Ave, Oklahoma City.
