Yukon Library Offers Monthly Afterschool Storytimes
The Mabel C. Fry Public library will soon offer a monthly afternoon storytime for Pre-K to 2nd grade students on the second Thursday of each month. The program begins November 10 and lasts through April.
Presented by the Frisco Oklahoma Home and Community Education (OHCE) group, each session takes place from 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm. During the storytimes, members of the Frisco OHCE both teach and entertain the children with book readings, snacks, games and crafts. The activities cover subjects such as good manners, character, appreciation for grown-ups, and other information children can use throughout their lives.
Be sure to mark these sessions on your calendar!
November 10: All about Fall Storytime - Learn about the seasons, why leaves change color, Thanksgiving, and more!
December 8: Season of Giving Storytime - Learn about the importance of giving and make a gift for someone you care about!
January 12: Snowflake Storytime - Learn about why each snowflake is different and make some of your own!
February 9: Sharing and Caring Storytime - Learn about the importance of love and kindness and make Valentines to share!

Raising Young Readers is a project of the Family Issues Committee of the OHCE organization. The local chapter, Frisco OHCE, was organized in 1933 to help the families of the community have a better life by gaining understanding of the issues facing families in the area. The group continues to promote education by sharing research-based lessons prepared by specialists at Oklahoma State University.
