Four Yukon Firefighters received a great honor by being selected from a large pool of applicants who are currently firefighters in the State of Oklahoma to serve on Oklahoma Task Force 1 (OKTF-1). These firefighters are Captain Brad Homme, Captain Cary Provence, Sergeant Dustin Noel and Corporal Kirk Ellington.

OKTF-1 is a specialized Urban Search and Rescue Team that is deployed nationally, as well as locally, to large disasters ranging from earthquakes to hurricanes and tornadoes.

“The support from our City and the willingness to serve by our firefighters are to credit for this opportunity,” said Yukon Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Trumbly.

The members selected are honored to have this incredible opportunity. They attend quarterly training, as well as other meetings, to remain a part of this elite group of firefighters.

“The training they receive will directly benefit the Yukon Fire Department and Yukon citizens,” said Yukon Fire Chief Shawn Vogt.

“We could not be more proud of these individuals,” said Trumbly.

The Yukon Fire Department is one of Yukon’s best departments. Optimism, energy and opportunity inspire the best in everything we do.  To learn more about Yukon’s best, visit www.yukonok.govor call 405.354.2133.
