YUKON BUSINESS DONATES $8,000 BOULDER TO PARK

Posted by City of Yukon on 06/29/2017

Thanks to a caring business, Yukon City Park will have a new beautiful feature. Jim and Shannon Craig recently opened a new business, Boulder Designs.  Soon after opening, they felt inspired to do something for their community.

“The City has been through quite a bit in the past year,” said Jim Craig.  “We wanted to do something that showed our support.”

The Craigs worked with City officials to design a large boulder with the City’s logo on it.  The boulder will be proudly displayed at City Park, near the exit of Jim Watson Drive.  The boulder measures 8 feet wide by 5 feet tall and weighs approximately 4,000 pounds.

The grand unveiling of the boulder is set for Friday, June 30, at 10 a.m.  Citizens, visitors, and media are invited to attend.

“This will really add a lot to the Park,” said Yukon Parks and Recreation Director, Jan Scott. “And it couldn’t come at a more perfect time: right before Freedom Fest!”
