Turtle Races at Friday Fun Days
Yukon Parks and Recreation is hosting the annual Turtle Race for kids ages 5 to 12 on June 14 at 10:00 a.m. Registration with start at 9:30am with race to follow. The Turtle Race is held at the parking lot south of Mulvey Pond, behind the Yukon Community Center, as part of Friday Fun Days.
This fan-favorite event has been going on for over 40 years. It has been a staple to Friday Fun Days, consistently bringing in crowds to see who has the fastest turtle in town.
To participate, here is what you need to do:
1) Catch your own turtle.
2) Decorate your Turtle for speed. No paint, please.
3) Register your turtle and race to the Finish line to see who wins.
Kids must bring their turtle to the parking lot south of Mulvey Pond, behind the Community Center. Turtles are categorized into groups: small, medium, and large. Awards are given to the Fastest, Biggest, and Smallest turtles of the day.
Bring your turtle to see how it stacks up. May the best turtle win!
