Spend Your Summer Working Yukon Special Events and in the Park!

Yukon Parks and Recreation is looking for summer employees to help with special events and work outdoors in the park.  This fun job opportunity offers employment that is different every day.  Hires will work Concerts in the Park, the Spirit League, landscaping projects, mowing/field maintenance and recreation programs such as Friday Fun Days, Chisholm Trail Festival, Freedom Fest, etc.

Applications are now being accepted for Recreation Aides, with interviews starting now for work with May activities or when school is out.

“If you want a great summer job, like being outside, enjoy work that is fun and rewarding and not the usual boring day-to-day hum drum, this is the position for you,” says Jan Scott, Parks and Recreation Director. “Don’t wait too long to act, as there are limited slots for these Special Aide positions.”

Applicants must be 16 years of age, but 18 yrs. is preferred for driving purposes.  The position starts at $8.50 an hour, but salary depends on experience.

Check out the Parks and Recreation Summer brochure on the City of Yukon website. Apply online at: www.yukonok.gov
