Senior Games Coming to Yukon April 6-15
Over 200 active adults will descend on Yukon for an 8 day Olympic style athletic event. Open to adults 50 and older, Yukon Senior Games offers over 40 events in ten sports. Sports include Archery, Basketball, Bowling, Cornhole, Golf, Horseshoes, Pickleball, Pool, Power Walk, Race Walk, Table Tennis, Track and Field, Washer Pitching and Weightlifting.
In addition to sports, there will be an Opening Gala on April 6 with dinner, music, dancing and other great entertainment. This year’s Gala theme is Roaring 20s. For those that may be a little more creative than athletic, the Creative Arts category highlights the best writing and photography that participants have to offer.
“Senior Games is about more than competition,“ said Tim Rhodes, Games Director. “It is about friendship, fellowship and camaraderie. People of all ages and all abilities gather not only to participate but to support their fellow athletes in pursuing their best effort and living an active, healthy lifestyle.”
Yukon Senior Games would like to thank their sponsors: Walgreens, McBride Orthopedic Hospital, Whispering Creek POA Inc., Bedlam Law, New Balance of Edmond, Yanda and Son Funeral Home, Grand Tapestry, Conrad Marr Pharmacy, Family Wellness Chiropractic and Wayne Driggers with United Healthcare.
