Residents May Change Ambulance Membership Through May 15
Now is the time for Yukon residents to change their current OPT IN or OPT OUT participation in the Samaritan EMS CareNet program. Customers who opt in to the membership are charged $3.65 per month.
If you are happy with the current status of your membership, no action is required. For residents who would like to change their membership status, they may opt in or out by Friday, May 15, 2020. There will be no further opportunity to opt in or out until 2021. The membership status change goes in effect as of June 1, 2020.
A Samaritan EMS CareNet membership is not insurance, but will help cover out of pocket medically necessary ambulance expenses, such as insurance co-pays. If you do not have a Samaritan membership and receive Samaritan ambulance services, you will be financially responsible for billed charges. All citizens who require medically necessary ambulance services within the Yukon city limits will always be transported regardless of ability to pay.
To opt in or out, simply fill out a Samaritan CareNet Ambulance Membership form, located here, and return it to the City of Yukon Utility Billing Department.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Samaritan EMS at www.samaritanemsok.com or call toll free 1-844-498-6471.
