No Sweat Yoga Comes to Mabel C Fry Public Library
No Sweat Yoga on Thursday September 22nd at 7pm brings yoga skills to people of all experience and fitness levels! Amy Brandley, a student and teacher at Spirit House Yoga, teaches this beginning yoga class that emphasizes relaxation and centering, with gentle stretches, attention to the breath, and flowing movements. Participants use a chair to assist with poses.
This class is appropriate for seniors and those who have never done yoga. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and to bring their own yoga mats, if they have them.
No Sweat Yoga is a part of the Adult Fall Reading Program at Mabel C Fry Public Library. There are two parts to the program. First, you can read books to win prizes. Simply stop by the library to pick up your free book bag, pedometer, and reading log. Reading participants set their own reading and activity goals by choosing a number of pages and steps they think they can complete in 8 weeks. Participants receive prizes when they reach the half-way point in their goal and their full goal. In addition to reading, free hour-long events are offered every Thursday at 7 pm beginning September 15; all centered on the Exercise Your Mind. Read! theme. The fall reading program is open to adults ages 18 and up.
All of the Thursday events are free to the public. Registration is required and can be completed by coming by the library, calling 405-354-8232, or going to www.mabelcfrypubliclibrary.com and clicking on “Adult Programs."
