Insect Adventure at Mabel C. Fry Library
We might not be thrilled about swallowing a fly, but insects are a crucial part of our world. Join us at the library on July 18th, at either 1:00 pm or 2:30 pm for Insect Adventure, a unique OSU extension program. Meet live insects and their relatives up close and personal! Get answers to all those questions that have been "bugging" you about the world's largest group of animals from a professional entomologist. (Bragging rights included for those who fully engage in this “hands-on” insect petting zoo experience!)
Insect Adventure is for students entering grades 1 through 5 this Fall and is one of the weekly programs for “Build a Better World”, the 2017 Summer Reading theme at the Mabel C. Fry Public Library. Space is limited, so advance registration is required, and children must attend independently of a caregiver. Registration opens on Thursday, July 13, at 11:00, am and can be completed online at www.mabelcfrypubliclibrary.com by clicking on "Programs” (Grades 1-5), by calling 354-8232, or stopping by the library at 1200 Lakeshore Drive.
There is still time to sign up for the Summer Reading Program! Each child will receive a goodie bag with a reading log, bookmark, stickers and a Chik-fil-A free meal card. Those who have already signed up are encouraged to bring in their reading logs and receive prizes for books read as well as entry slips for our end-of-the-summer prize drawings. Please remember, the last day to bring in your reading logs for entry slips is July 28!
