Festival of the Child in Yukon set for First Saturday in May!

Yukon’s upcoming 21st annual celebration of Festival of the Child will be held Saturday, May 6 at Yukon City Park, 2200 S. Holly Avenue.  Event hours are 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 

This annual family friendly festival is the day for children to shine.  Over 50 areas of FUN include kayaking, pony rides, painting, wood art, storytelling, crafts and more!   Over 40 volunteer organizations will be on hand to make this a fun and special day!

Corporate sponsor, Children’s New World will operate the Paint Place with lots of different painting activities for kids to enjoy. So make sure to stop by and see what painting activities you can enjoy. 

The Westpointe Chrysler Jeep Dodge Art Stage will feature several kid friendly live performances.  Scheduled to appear: Chester the Clown, ventriloquist Professor QB, Mexican Box Dancing, and Spaghetti Eddie.  In between performances the stage will be open for kids to come up and sing, dance and dress up. 

The K12, Inc. Festival Fun Zone will feature laser tag, the Energy FC soccer team, a large slide, and a 44’ Obstacle Course will be aired up for bouncing fun!  Knockerball, outdoor activities, a chalk wall and other games will pack the area with fun!  The fun zone is the perfect place for the youngsters full of energy to play.  Kids will be able to stop by the K12 booth to get the entire scoop on the fun zone!  The fun zone is located on the football field inside Yukon City Park. 

Get your advance $5 tickets through May 5th at the Yukon Community Center, Dale Robertson Center, Jackie Cooper Gym, Children’s New World, and YNB Your Neighborhood Bank locations.  Tickets the day of the event go up to $7 and adults are FREE!
