City of Yukon Unveils Updated Website
The City of Yukon is pleased to unveil an updated website! The website now offers a clean design that provides quick access to the City’s most popular services, such as paying utility bills and reporting problems, as well as things to do and city employment opportunities.
Located at www.yukonok.gov, the website features a responsive content management system that allows content to be displayed properly on both desktop computers and mobile devices.
The website re-design came after City staff noticed many features on the current website were not being utilized to their fullest potential. One example is the ‘Report a Problem’ feature, which allows citizens to directly report an issue from the comfort of their computer.
Department accessibility was another goal at the forefront of the update. Now users can find contact information at the top of each department page.
“We are so thankful to the design firm for working within that and allowing our team to do a lot of the editing ourselves," said Jenna Roberson, Public Information Officer for the City of Yukon. "A tight budget means we had to use a lot of programs we already had, but we worked hard to organize the website in a much more user-friendly manner.”
A new feature is the A-Z Directory, a page dedicated to popular topics that website visitors look for. The page lists topics from “abandoned vehicles” to “zoning permits” and everything in between. Each link either directs you to a page with more information on the topic, or to the department page that handles the topic.
“We hope people find the update helpful, and we also hope to continue updating the website to make things easier on our residents,” said Roberson.
Technology is one of Yukon’s best Departments. Optimism, energy and opportunity inspire the best in everything we do. To learn more about Yukon’s best, visit www.cityofyukonok.gov or call 405-350-8949.
