Christmas With A Cop 2018
Christmas With A Cop is a very special program to the men and women of the Yukon Police Department. The program’s first event was in 2008. In 2008, YPD officers took 15 children shopping. Over the years we have taken close to 260 children shopping for special gifts for their family members! Our program entitles selected young people in our community to embrace the spirit of giving and experience a Christmas to remember.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The day begins with breakfast. Children are paired with an officer during breakfast and they discuss who and what they will be shopping for. After breakfast, the child and officer get in a police unit and along with the other officers, caravan to the shopping location. After the purchases have been made, the officer and his/her guest go back to the station to wrap gifts. Once all packages are ready, parents pick up their child and the rest is magic!
Christmas With A Cop is a volunteer program and our officers dedicate time to shop and connect with the children. Our goal this year is to help 25 to 30 children have an experience they won’t forget! Our program is funded solely by donations. Donation boxes will be distributed to local businesses in Yukon beginning October 15th, 2018. Donations may also be mailed or delivered to:

Applicant must be within the Yukon public and private school districts. We will be accepting applications to participate in our program until Friday, November 16th 2018. Applications are available at the police department or download here. Applications are to be completed and signed by a parent or guardian. Applications need to be dropped off at the department or mailed to the address above.
