City Council

Yukon City Council meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m.  Meetings occur in the Council Chambers of the Centennial Building, 12 S. 5th St.

The City of Yukon is a place I have called home for almost 50 Years and throughout its history, which dates back to the early 1890’s, it has been a place where the basic values of America are an everyday tradition. The values of community, clean living, hard work, bringing up a family, first class education, safety, honesty, integrity, and many other factors make Yukon a great place to live. My children, grandchildren, and now great grandchildren have been brought up in a place I believe is the essence of America.

The town still to this day supports Czechoslovakian heritage, although many other ethnic groups live in our town as my heritage is Irish. My town holds many different types of activities the largest of which is the Czech Festival and brings many folks from all over the nation. Our welcoming slogan “ Vitame Vas “ which means “ We Welcome You “ is but a sign of the wonderful community I call home.

Our town is a place of all the amenities of a large city while still maintaining a small town feel. We have a full service hospital, outstanding police and fire departments, a highly rated school system, great shopping, and all the services you would expect in a much larger city. Our local government and City Council are very open and transparent to all of the citizens of our community.  We have open meetings to allow visitor input, commissions for all our major activities as an example: Traffic, Parks, and Planning. Our Parks and Recreation activities are second to none. We have an extremely active community for such things as festivals, community involvement, physical activities, for all ages.

As Mayor, I encourage all of those who are considering coming to Yukon and those who are already here to find a way to contribute to the continuation of making our community even better. The Yukon “Millers“ are a community of great folks, doing great things, at a time where values are more important than ever in our country.  Our future looks bright and I could not be more proud to be your Mayor.
