Posted by City of Yukon on 03/25/2020

The City of Yukon will close its buildings to the public, with the exception of Police and Municipal Court buildings, effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. The buildings will be closed for 21 days, however City Offices are still available by phone and email, or an appointment can be scheduled, if necessary.

Bill pay is still available through the drive-thru at City Hall, or residents may use the online or telephone bill pay options. Each department’s phone number can be found on their page at www.yukonok.gov, or residents may call the main number, 405-354-1895.

Effective immediately, the Transfer Station will be closed on Saturdays until further notice.

The following City-owned facilities are already closed and will remain closed until further notice:

-       Dale Robertson Senior Center (Mobile Meals and DRC lunches will continue until further notice)

-       Yukon Public Library

-       Jackie Cooper Gymnasium

-       Yukon Community Center

-       Yukon Parks and Recreation (leagues, facilities, and events)

On March 24, 2020, Governor Stitt issued an executive order that states non-essential businesses in counties with a positive COVID-19 case must close for 21 days effective Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 11:59 p.m. Canadian County has positive COVID-19 cases and is therefore affected by the executive order.

The City of Yukon is taking these measures to limit the public’s potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Rest assured, the health and safety of its citizens is a top priority. The City will constantly monitor and reassess the situation to promote the health and safety of its citizens. Please check back with the City’s website, www.yukonok.gov/covid19, and official social media accounts for updates.
