Starting Your New Service

Please be aware that we turn on water meters by appointment time, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. We ask for a 60 minute time frame and our staff will come by, verify that someone over the age of 18 is present and turn the meter on. The water meter will not be turned on otherwise and a new appointment must be scheduled at 405-350-3910 or [email protected]. We only respond to e-mail during regular business hours.

There are many areas surrounding Yukon that are actually in the city limits of other municipalities, such as Oklahoma City, even though they have a Yukon mailing address or are in the Yukon school district. An interactive map is available on the home page at www.yukonok.gov. Click on City Boundary to confirm that your address is in our service area, which is within the Yukon corporate city limits.

To start new service, please follow these steps;

1.         Complete a new service application form, present 2 forms of identification (one must be a photo ID) and pay a deposit. Any unpaid prior balances owed to the City of Yukon must be paid in full at the time.  Deposits are $40 per meter for residential customers and $50 per meter for commercial customers. Deposits remain on accounts and are ultimately applied to the final bill.  New customers are encouraged to come to our office to start their service.

2.         If it is impossible to come in person to start new service, please follow these steps to submit your information to us by e-mail or by fax:

a.         Complete a new service application form.

b.         Pay a deposit.  You may pay your deposit by phone with us at 405-350-3910 or go to www.yukonok.gov/pay-online-utility-billing-type/water-deposit-resident for residents or www.yukonok.gov/pay-online-utility-billing-type/water-deposit-business for commercial.  Please retain the transaction approval number that appears on the final screen and submit it with your application documents. There is a $3.00 convenience fee charged for Visa, MasterCard or Discover transactions.

c.         Make a legible copy of two forms of identification; one must be a photo I.D.

d.         E-mail your application form, deposit confirmation number and identification to us at

[email protected] or fax to 405-350-8909.  Call us during business hours at 405-350-3910 to confirm we received your information, and schedule a turn on time.

3.        New customers may be interested in:

a.         All active utility accounts include a $3.65 monthly charge for a  Samaritan CareNet Ambulance Membership.  This includes all residential rental properties and multi-living facilities. New utility customers must opt out at the time they start new service, if they do not wish to have a membership. An opt out form must be signed and submitted. There are no further opportunities to opt out until the following year’s enrollment period for all customers.

b.         The City of Yukon offers paperless billing. We can e-mail an electronic bill, rather than a paper bill sent through the mail.  A completed paperless billing enrollment form must be submitted.

c.         Many customers enjoy the convenience of having their monthly payments automatically debited from their bank account. A monthly bill will still be sent to the customer. Payments are debited on the payment due date each month, which is the 15th, unless that date is on a weekend or a holiday observed by the City of Yukon. What that happens, the following business day becomes the due date. A completed bank draft enrollment form must be submitted and monthly bills paid until the drafts go into effect.  Customers know their drafts are effective when they see “Paid By Draft” printed on their monthly bill.
