Samaritan EMS Fee - City of Yukon

Samaritan EMS Fee

City of Yukon active utility accounts are charged a $3.65 per month fee for a Samaritan EMS Carenet ambulance membership.   Included are all residential accounts and multi-family living facilities.  The membership helps cover the cost of the co-pay and deductible not covered by insurance, in the event medically necessary ambulance services are rendered to a permanent resident of the household.  The monthly fee is charged unless the account holder submits an opt out form by a specified deadline each year.

New residents starting utility service are given an opportunity to either participate or opt out at the time they start new service. No changes can be made until a designated time period the following year.

Residents who choose to opt out of the program and receive ambulance transport services will be financially responsible for billed charges.  The typical charges range from $356.62 to $972.43, depending on the level of services needed by the patient and the destination.  All citizens who require medically necessary ambulance services within the Yukon city limits will always be transported regardless of ability to pay.
