KIDS INVITED TO THE 21st ANNUAL MAYOR’S CHRISTMAS PARTY
Youngsters are invited to get in the Christmas spirit at the 21stAnnual Mayor’s Christmas Party for Kids on Saturday, December 1, from 10 a.m. to Noon at the Dale Robertson Center, 1200 Lakeshore Drive.
The Mayor’s Christmas Party for Kids is a come and go event that is free for Yukon children. It includes refreshments with Christmas characters including The Grinch, Jinglesaurus, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf and several elves. There will also be face painting, crafts and other activities.
New this year, Santa is visiting from the North Pole. Children can write a letter to Santa during the festivities and give it to him in person!
Festivities kick off at 9:30 a.m. with awards presentation for the Mayor’s Essay Contest winners, just before the party begins at 10 a.m. Mayor Michael McEachern is sponsoring the essay contest, along with the Parks & Recreation Department’s “Friends of the Park.” Yukon students in first through fifth grades are invited to write an essay entitled, “My Favorite Christmas Song and Why.” For essay details, contact Shawn Steggles, Yukon Parks & Recreation, at 350-8937 or [email protected].
