Chill your Cheeks 5K Registration Open

Yukon Parks and Recreation’s Chill Your Cheeks 5K run returns on Saturday, November 23. Held annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Chill Your Cheeks coincides with the opening of “Christmas in the Park”, Yukon’s annual Christmas light display.  The race course will start and finish in Chisholm Trail Park.  Close to 400 runners from all over the state, as well as surrounding states, will descend upon Yukon for this great holiday run.

The 5K begins at 5:00 p.m. The course closes at 6:00 p.m. to open to drive thru traffic.  Runners must be able to finish the 5K in that time frame. In addition to the 5K race, the free Jingle Walk begins at 5:30 p.m. The Jingle Walk is a leisure stroll through the lights of Chisholm Trail Park. All walk participants receive a free jingle bell bracelet to wear during the Walk. Pets and strollers are welcome in the Walk, but are not allowed in the 5K. Sport strollers are allowed in the 5K.

The Mascot Dash will get things kicked off at 4:30 p.m.  Mascots from all over will compete in a 100 yard dash.  Mascots will be there from local high schools, local colleges as well as many popular restaurants and companies.

Online registration is available through November 22. Visit www.yukonok.gov/catalog to register online.  In person registration is available at the Jackie Cooper Gym, 1024 E. Main St or Yukon Community Center, 2200 S. Holly Ave. Regular pricing begins is $30 for adults and $25 for youth.  Race day registration is $40 for adults and $35 for youth.
