Applications Open to Have ‘Honor Displays’ at Christmas in the Park
Express your love for friends and family this holiday season by sponsoring a 2020 Christmas in the Park Honor Display.
Honor Displays are 3-foot-tall, LED lighted displays in the shape of an angel, bell, ornament, candle, poinsettia or tree. Each Honor Display is accompanied by a lighted signboard with a person’s name or company name. New this year, applicants may pick from the following greetings to accompany their name: “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Holidays” or “In Loving Memory.” Personal messages are no longer permitted on the displays.
A limited number of each type of display are available and will be assigned on a first come, first serve, paid basis. Honor Displays are intermingled with the other displays and lights throughout the three-park light show. The cost to sponsor a display is $60 per year for an individual or $100 per year for a business. The deadline to sponsor a display is October 16, or until they are sold out, whichever comes first.
Interested individuals and organizations may contact Claudia Krshka with City of Yukon Development Services at 405-354-6676 or stop by the Development Services office at 334 Elm St for a form.
Oklahoma’s largest drive-through Christmas lights tour, with over 5 million lights, will be open from Saturday, November 21, through New Year’s Eve from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly.
