Yukon’s Rock the Route Returns with Muscadine Bloodline, Jack Ingram
The Thursday night before Labor Day, right where the Mother Road runs through Yukon, you’ll find thousands of fans at Rock the Route! This fan-favorite festival returns for another year, featuring Muscadine Bloodline and special guest, Jack Ingram. Gannon Fremin and CCREV will open the concert.
Presented by YNB, Rock the Route brings back that old Americana feeling that is tough to find nowadays. Twinkling lights string the old downtown, as visitors and neighbors alike mingle on the street. Some concertgoers have even been known to start dancing!
Thousands gather to celebrate America’s Main Street, which also happens to be Yukon’s Main Street. Award-winning acts, food trucks, and plenty of fun activities for all ages take over downtown Yukon. Whether you’re a die-hard red dirt music fan or just looking for a fun night out with friends or family, Rock the Route brings something for everyone.
Stroll between 4th and 5th Streets for all the festivities. Some Main Street Businesses stay open later than usual with special sales. Young and young-at-heart enjoy the many fun activities at the Rockin’ Family Fun Zone, open from 5 pm to 10 pm.
Proudly independent and unapologetically Southern, country duo Muscadine Bloodline found their true voice on their latest album, Dispatch to 16th Ave. Their sophomore record debuted at No. 1 on the iTunes Country Chart, hit No. 4 on the iTunes All Genre Chart and peaked at No. 17 on the Billboard Chart. Lauded by Taste of Country, Rolling Stone, PEOPLE and Billboard, the duo's new music is the most authentic Muscadine Bloodline yet. Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton grew up in Mobile, Alabama, but didn’t cross paths until they each started to pursue their musical dreams. In 2012, they forged a friendship when Stanton opened a show for Muncaster’s band at Soul Kitchen in their hometown. Since naming themselves Muscadine Bloodline in 2015, the duo has charted three albums, sold-out shows across the country and played the Grand Ole Opry multiple times, hailed often as the most successful independent duo in Country music. Their Southern roots carry over to their band name as well: Muscadine grapes grow in the South while Bloodline represents their heritage.
Throughout a recording career that has spanned more than 20 years, Jack Ingram has maintained a reputation for uncompromising, personally charged song craft and energetic, charismatic performances, earning him prominent stature in a prestigious tradition of iconoclastic singer-songwriters. Ingram’s prior work has won him a fiercely devoted fan base as well as reams of critical acclaim, and now Midnight Motel marks a creative milestone for the veteran artist, his sound ever evolving while showcasing some of his most expressive, emotionally raw songwriting to date. Ingram was also featured "The Marfa Tapes", a documentary that follows him, Miranda Lambert and Jon Randall, where viewers can see the making of the 2021 album of the same name. “The Marfa Tapes” was recently nominated for Best Country Album at the 64th annual Grammy Awards.
