Kids and Kids-at-Heart Can “Rock the Route” Too!
Both kids and adults won’t want to miss Rock the Route, coming up on August 29! In addition to the FREE concert featuring Pat Green and special guest Read Southall band, there will be plenty of other fun activities for kids and kids-at-heart!
Presented by YNB, Rock the Route brings quality music and fun to downtown Yukon on Thursday, August 29, from 6:00 pm to 11:00 pm. Both free and “pay to play” family-friendly activities will be available. The activities take place on 5thStreet on the north side of historic Route 66.
FREE Activities from Yukon Parks and Recreation
Yukon Parks and Recreation will be on site with plenty of free, family-friendly fun. Stop by the craft tent for festive crafts for a wide variety of ages. Feeling competitive? Join in the kids cornhole tournament.
Pay to Play Activities (Prices TBA)
Test your balance and reflexes on the riding mechanical bull! See how long you can hang on as the bull turns and twists. Try it for fun, or have a competition with your friends to see who can hold on the longest!
For another exhilarating experience, slide down the tall inflatable slide! This activity is fun for the whole family.
For adventurous festival-goers, try the rock climbing wall. See if you can make all the way to the top!
Also, for a small fee, face painters and glitter tattoo artists will be on hand to turn you or your kids’ faces into masterpieces!
The concert and family-friendly activities will take over Main Street between 4thand 5thStreets. Food trucks will be parked nearby to satisfy appetites, and several Main Street Businesses will stay open later than usual.
As if that weren’t enough, several Yukon’s Best Main Street businesses are offering sales that evening! Stop by your favorite Main Street business, or discover a new one while enjoying special savings.

No tickets are necessary, but be sure to arrive early if you want a good view. New this year, a limited amount of VIP tickets is available for purchase at $50 each. These tickets include access to front of stage area / best view at the concert! The section also has a dedicated VIP beer tent and air conditioned restroom facilities. VIP tickets can be purchased online at www.eventbrite.com.
